How Does Test Kitchen Work?
It is a 4 step process for making and confirming a seat at the Test Kitchen. All of these steps are conducted over email, so it is important once you submit your name for an event that you check your email regularly. Each email you receive will explain the next step and the deadline for the next step in detail.
STEP 1: Save the Date Email – This email goes out to everyone on the Test Kitchen list approximately one month prior to the event. It gives you the name and date of the event, so you can check your calendar to see if you can make it. We do not accept names for the lottery at this time.
STEP 2: Invitation Email – This email goes out to everyone on the Test Kitchen list one to two weeks after the Save the Date and it gives the Chef who will be cooking, the price per person, the menu and it reconfirms the date and time of the event. Once you receive this email it instructs you to respond to it with the names and number of people in your party you would like to place in the lottery with you. All of your seats go into the lottery together, so you will either all make it in or not.
If you do place your name in the lottery and it is not selected then, you will be sent an email letting you know you did not make the cut. We hope you will not hold it against us and encourage you, whole-heartedly, to put your name in the lottery for a future event.
STEP 3: You Are In Email – This email goes out ONLY to those people who have been selected in the random lottery to attend the event. Anyone who does not receive this email, did not make it past the lottery. This email explains that you have made the cut, and gives you the link where you need to pre-pay for all of your seats at the Test Kitchen. You have only 48 hours from the time you receive the email to make your payment for all seats you placed in the lottery with you. If you fail to pay, by the deadline, you are sent a separate email explaining that you have forfeited your seats and that they will go back into the lottery for someone else to be selected. The number of seats at each event is final, usually we offer only 20 seats at the Test Kitchen table per each event. These events are intended to be intimate affairs with plenty of one on one time with the Chef and other members of the Test Kitchen.
STEP 4: Confirmation and Location Reveal Email – This is the final email you will receive from Test Kitchen prior to the event. You will only receive this email once you have paid for your seats via our online payment link. This email confirms your seats and reveals the location of the event to you with any additional instructions on where to park and how to check in.
